DNX #1 Cover A

DNX is Marvel's 5-issue X-Men event for fall 2026, written by Jed MacKay with art by Federico Vicentini and main covers by Kaare Andrews. It is the payoff for MacKay's X-Men run and it picks up straight from Age of Revelation. Cyclops's X-Men and the Chairman (the future Beast, running a group called 3K) both saw that future and came back with opposite plans. 3K rebuilt the X-Virus and wants to release it on a city to turn everyone into mutants, and the X-Men pull in the Fantastic Four to stop it. The finale is billed as Cyclops against the Chairman to the death.

#1 comes out Sep 16, 2026 at $5.99, and the other 4 issues land Sep 30, Oct 14, Nov 4, and Nov 18. X-Men #35 and #36 were the official prologue in August. The tie-ins are X-Men #37 to #41 and Fantastic Four #17 and #18, and Jean Grey #1 picks up the aftermath on Nov 25, 2026.

This page is every issue, plus the prologue and tie-in books, on one timeline with release dates, cover prices, cover counts, and my score once I review it. I have read #1 and the full review is coming, with every variant and what raw and graded copies are actually selling for. Nothing in #1 is confirmed as a first appearance or a key yet. The covers getting the most attention right now are the 1:50 Jim Lee Hidden Gem, the 1:100 Puppeteer Lee, the 1:200 Jeehyung Lee virgin, and the 1:500 Chip Zdarsky.

DNX FAQ

How many issues of DNX are there?

5. DNX #1 comes out Sep 16, 2026, then #2 on Sep 30, #3 on Oct 14, #4 on Nov 4, and #5 on Nov 18. Add X-Men #35 and #36 as the prologue, X-Men #37 to #41 and Fantastic Four #17 and #18 as tie-ins, and Jean Grey #1 as the aftermath book, and the whole event is 16 comics.

What is the DNX reading order?

Read X-Men #35 and #36 first. They are the official prologue, and #36 sets up the rescue that DNX #1 opens on. Then DNX #1 to #5 in order. The X-Men #37 to #41 tie-ins slot in between the main issues by release date, MacKay writes them, and I would read them. Fantastic Four #17 and #18 are the FF side of the same story, and you can skip them without losing the plot. The Comics Giveaway Day Armageddon / X-Men book from May 2, 2026 has the first 3K scene, and Age of Revelation explains where the X-Virus came from. Both are optional.

Is DNX #1 worth anything?

On release week, no. Cover A is a $5.99 book and it will sell for about that. Nothing in #1 is confirmed as a first appearance, no second printing has been announced, and no sellout notice has gone out. The money on this issue is in the ratio covers: the 1:50 Jim Lee Hidden Gem, the 1:100 Puppeteer Lee, the 1:200 Jeehyung Lee virgin, and the 1:500 Chip Zdarsky. The hidden double cover on Cover A is a fun gimmick and I like it, but every copy has it, so it does not make the book rare. Sold prices by cover will be on the #1 page when the review goes up.

Which DNX variants matter?

The 5 incentives on #1: 1:25 Marco Checchetto, 1:50 Jim Lee Hidden Gem, 1:100 Puppeteer Lee, 1:200 Jeehyung Lee virgin, and 1:500 Chip Zdarsky. After that, the blind bag chases: the Artgerm virgin, the John Tyler Christopher foil virgin, and the hand-drawn sketch covers. The open-order covers (Stegman, Jeehyung Lee, the Leinil Yu X variant, and the Vicentini connecting set) are cover-price books unless one turns out short printed. Later issues carry a 1:25 and 1 bigger ratio each, the 1:100 Andrews virgin on #2 and the 1:50 Castellini virgin on #3.

When does the next issue of DNX come out?

DNX #2 comes out Sep 30, 2026, the same day as X-Men #38 and Fantastic Four #17. After that, #3 on Oct 14, #4 on Nov 4, and #5 on Nov 18. #1 was pushed 2 weeks from its original Sep 2 date, so if an older listing says Sep 2, that is why.

Can I buy DNX here?

Yes. Upcoming issues are in the preorders collection at 20% off cover, and you can add DNX to a pull list so every issue ships to you release week, bagged and boarded. In-stock issues get a Buy it link on the timeline as they land.
